While the entire World raises its collective voice demanding for more responsible action towards protecting its water and environment, the Rimac River, main source of drinkable water for people living in Lima, Peru, remains absolutely abandoned and contaminated.

By walking the 145 kms. of it´s riverbed and making an artistic and journalistic report of the trip, we want to draw worldwide attention to the alarming current state of this magnificent and essential stretch of water that serves millions of people.

The hike starts on May 8th, at the Uco Peak (5100 meters above sea level), located in the Province of Junin, and ends on May 31st on the mouth of the river, in the Pacific Ocean.

Our work will later join the artistic, ecological and development proposals in collaboration with various architects, artists and other specialists who are being called for the occasion. It will all come together in an exhibition that will be held on October.

It is our hope that, through this project, we are able to raise awareness over the current forgotten state of the Rimac River and showcase it as a potential generator of future wealth and wellbeing for its inhabitants.

We invite you to leave your comments, ideas and proposals.
